Today Amin is a successful academic. In the 1990s, he fled from Afghanistan to a small Danish town, where he was granted asylum as an unaccompanied minor. He met director Jonas Poher Rasmussen when he was 15. Since then, the two have shared a deep friendship. The painful secret behind Amin’s flight was unknown to Jonas for a long time. For only now is Amin ready to tell his story.
Using the unique format of an animated documentary, art director Jess Nicholls and director Jonas Poher Rasmussen create a
remarkably humanising and complex film, that allows Amin (a pseudonym) to stay anonymous and protect his family.
