Milena is a housewife in her mid 50s with a settled life in an upscale neighbourhood of Belgrade. Like all her friends, she takes care of the household, her husband, the adult son and the teenage daughter. There is only sporadic contact with the oldest daughter, since the father can not accept that she sees Serbia’s role in the Balkan war critically. Milena’s orderly world is thrown off balance when she is diagnosed with breast cancer and on the same day discovers a shocking video of her husband’s past – two truths not easy to face.
A Good Wife is the sensitive and shaking directorial debut of Serbian actress Mirjana Karanović who also shines in the lead role of Milena.
