Europe today. The fates of six people cross in Amsterdam. Yaya from Burkina Faso illegally works in a greenhouse for roses. Young Bulgarian Jenya has come here hoping for a model career. Ten-year-old Lukas from Sweden misses his mother – a celebrated violinist – while his father Stig, a star conductor at the Amsterdam concert hall, is tormenting him with merciless piano lessons. Driven by her past, Bosnian doctor Seka seeks retribution, while Ivica from Serbia is concealing his inhuman brutality behind a ghastly cover of paternal care.
The outstanding actor ensemble provides these interwoven stories with a compelling urgency. The Paradise Suite was the Dutch proposal for the Oscar nomination in 2015.
