23-year old Benjamin is a first year medical intern and starts his first practical semester in a hospital ward run by his father.
In the beginning he is certain, that he is going to be a great doctor, but the reality of the everyday routine at the clinic soon catches up with him. Responsibility is overwhelming and his co-intern Abdel from Algeria is far more experienced than he is. Not only has Benjamin to face his own limitations and shortcomings soon, he is also confronted with questionable practices in public health care, that force him to take up a stance.
